Spindle Mattress Firmness Guide

Spindle publishes ILD ranges for its latex layers, but the mattress feel depends on the complete stack and the sleeper.

Firmness is a system, not a label

Spindle publishes ILD values for individual latex layers, but it also warns shoppers not to use ILD alone. The top layer, the layers underneath it, the quilted cover, your body size and sleeping position all affect perceived firmness.

Why rearranging layers can help

Moving a firmer layer closer to the top generally changes the immediate feel more than leaving that layer deeper in the stack. The exact result is subjective, which is why layer order is best treated as a tuning tool rather than a promise of a precise “firmness number.”

Who may value this design most?

Shoppers who know they like latex but are uncertain about final firmness have more room to experiment than they would with a permanently bonded stack.
